Completed Spring 2022
This property is situated in the Sonoma Valley at the confluence of an airy oak woodland, a vineyard, and the arroyo seco. There are several prolific fruit trees, beautiful old valley oaks, myrtles, and pines. The design intends to support the client’s vision of transforming this Sonoma ranch house into a multi-generational family retreat with modern spaces and a strong sense place. A hierarchy of spaces in the front and rear was established to provide a sense of outdoor meandering and exploration as well as celebratory gathering places.
Wide paths and expansive shrubby planted beds create framed walks between areas on site. The inside and outside of the house flow seamlessly together and share views and a sense of openness and play.
